LAST HOORAH  Badminton Tournament

 DATE:  August 24, 25, 2007

 LOCATION:  Macon Co. Recreation Center, 1288 Georgia Rd. (S 441), Franklin, NC

                        (across from Whistle Stop Mall)

 Purpose of this tournament:      

To provide a venue in Western North Carolina for badminton players of all ages to meet and engage in competitive play with players from outside their local areas.

To provide an opportunity for senior games participants to gain tournament competition experience prior to the state games tournament.

            To increase camaraderie among Badminton enthusiasts.

 Competition with players outside our own clubs can only increase our skill level; therefore, we welcome and invite as many of you who may, to join us for a GREAT weekend of fun, fellowship and competition.

 This is NOT a USBA sanctioned tournament.  This tourney is sponsored by the Macon County Senior Games and all proceeds benefit the MCSG.

 Fees:  $20.00 first event, $5.00 per each additional event

• Singles (age divisions and open),

• Doubles (age divisions and open) and

• Mixed Doubles (age divisions and open)

 Schedule: 

Friday (evening will depend on how many participants.)

Singles play from 5:00 pm to 8:00 pm.

8:00 – 9:00 Welcome Social

 

Saturday: gym open for warm-up 8:00 am

            Match play:  9:00 am – 9: pm

 

Sunday:  (finals if needed) 8:00 am – 12:00

 

Gym has 4 regulation courts, air conditioned and shower facilities.

*NO food or drink allowed in the gym.  Concession stand in hallway with ample room to eat.

 

Rules:  New USBA 21 point game rules.

 

1^st and 2^nd Place Metals given in al divisions.

Prize given to the club/team that brings the most members to participate.

 

Please pre-register by August 20^th, on-site registration will be Friday, August 24 at 4:00.

Gift bag provided with each registration.

Participant Waiver (must be signed):

 In consideration of my participation in the “Last Hoorah” Badminton Tournament hosted by the Macon Sr. Games of Macon County, I agree to assume the risks incidental to such participation (which include, but are not limited to, property damage, bodily injury and death) and on my own behalf and on behalf of my heirs, executors and administrators release and forever discharge the released parties defined below of  and from all liabilities, claims, actions, damages, costs or expenses of any nature arising out of or in any way connected with my participation in such activity and further agree to indemnify and hold each of the released parties harmless against any and all such liabilities, claims, actions, damages, costs or expenses including, but not limited to, all attorney’s fees and disbursements.

 The released parties are the Macon County Senior Games, Macon County Recreation and ALL officers, employees, agents, representatives, volunteers, participants and assigns of each of the foregoing entities.  I understand that this release and indemnity agreement includes any claims based on negligence, action, inaction or fault of any of the above released parties and covers bodily injury (including death) and property damage, whether suffered by me before during or after such participation.  This release agreement shall be constructed to be as comprehensive as is allowed by law , as severable, the invalidity of any portion of which shall not affect any other portion; and shall not establish a legal or other relationship between or among the persons released by this agreement.  I declare that I am physically fit and have the skill level required to participate in this particular event.  I further authorize medical treatment fro myself at my cost if the need arises.
